Preferences General Preferences   Include debugging info in log: When this option is chosen, virtually everything that comes over the modem port is written to the log file. This can be useful for determining why BulkRate isn't working as one would expect, since it allows you to see exactly what is being sent by the FirstClass® CLUI. Palette button sounds: Turns on or off the sounds made when clicking a palette button. Use a message tag line: This allows you to add random one-line "tags" to the end of your messages. BulkRate will pick a single line at random from this list and add it to end of your outgoing messages. Note that this is a tagline , not a signature file. For information on creating and using signature files, see Adding a ‘signature’ to your messages in the Hints and Tips chapter of this document. Max redials/Redial delay Use these to tell BulkRate how many times to try dialing a BBS before giving up, and the time in seconds to wait between attempts. Default font/Size Use these pop-up menus to choose the default font and size in which you would like incoming and outgoing mail to be displayed. FirstClass® Preferences   These are related to the Preferences you can set in FirstClass® Client. It's important to set these to the way you'd like them set when using FirstClass® Client, as BulkRate changes the preferences to what it requires during a mail exchange. It uses the settings in this window to reset the FirstClass® Preferences. Show items in conferences in reverse order This causes FirstClass® to show list items with the newest items first. Set this to however you'd like it to be when using FirstClass® Client. Show only unread items in conference This causes FirstClass® to hide items you've already read. BulkRate automatically turns this setting on when it does a mail exchange; if you uncheck this, BulkRate will turn it back off as it logs off. Don't accept invitations This keeps chat requests from coming to you; BulkRate automatically turns this setting on when it does a mail exchange; if you uncheck this, BulkRate will turn it back off as it logs off. Sounds during chat and invite This controls sounds during a chat session. Set this to however you'd like it to be when using FirstClass® Client. Quoting preferences   Wrap text at ___ characters Controls the width of quoted text. Set this to 0 if you don't want BulkRate to wrap quoted text at all. 70 works well because it allows quoted text to be requoted without going over 80 characters. Include attribution line This controls whether or not BulkRate precedes quoted text with a line giving attribution to the originator. It's good form to do so. Quote characters This group of controls allows you to customize what characters BulkRate uses to proceed each line of quoted text.
